Claire Carter

Claire is a full-time photographer with over 30 years of teaching experience. Landscape photography is the genre that lights her fire and she has had her work recognized in major competitions. Leading tours enables her to use both her photography and teaching expertise and she gets personal highs from both. Claire is keen to help you learn to “think” and will share her plans for the shoot ahead, looking at maps, apps and weather.

A stunning, architect-converted chapel provides superb quality accommodation. All bedrooms are en-suite. A sauna with changing facilities is available. Communal areas are spacious and modern with a large dining table where we will eat together. A large screen TV with surround-sound will enable high quality presentations. There is a coffee machine in the kitchen. WiFi is available.

Meals are informal and breakfast and an evening meal will be taken in our accommodation. As this tour is aimed at serious photography, meals will not take priority and will be fitted in around prime photography time. We can almost always accommodate specific dietary requirements - just tell us on the booking form and we’ll make sure you get what you want.

A few locations require up to thirty minutes of easy walking to reach the desired location but all have plenty of interest along the way and we will not be rushing but walking and shooting as we go. The majority of locations are literally just outside the vehicle. A good degree of agility is required walking on rocky beaches.

Weather is very changeable in Wales and although it could be crisp and sunny, rain, strong winds and even snow are possible at this time of year. Temperatures are likely to range from 4 to 10 degrees C during the day but frosts are common at dawn.

Our guide for this tour, Claire Carter, has many years of photographic tour-leading experience. For those who would like assistance, she will take you through both technical and practical aspects of this type of photography and will be on hand to help you get the most from your time spent with us.
